between Rauma and Gävle.  

M/V Festivo has a capacity of 1000 lane meters/64 standard 

trailers. Route61 will primarily provide total transport solutions 

to industrial customers in Finland and Sweden. The concept 

also offer combined rail solutions to the continent and to 

Russia. Our ambition is to offer faster, more cost efficient and 

more environmentally friendly solutions than what’s available at 

the market today.

 Finnish Customs has granted Rauma Stevedoring AEOF-certificate on 17th of May 2011.

 

AEOF-certificate's owner has Customs security certificate for customs and logistics operations and is therefore justified for certain benefits in EU, for example simplified custom procedures and facilitations for customs declaration phase inspections.

 

AEO- Authorised Economic Operator is world-wide project of World Customs Organisation (WCO) and it aims to improve safety of international supply chain with AEO certificates.

There are three types of certificates: AEOC - Customs Simplifications, AEOS - Safety and Security and AEOF - Full (both AEOC and AEOS included

 

Certificate's owner needs to meet safety standards regarding safety management, premises and personnel safety, logistics and production safety and also delivery chain safety. Safety standards require that premises are safely organized and safety procedures are in order. These procedures have to concern certificate's owner's business and making business with customers, suppliers and service providers.

 

Finnish Customs has audited Rauma Stevedoring. Audit concentrated on structural protection and security control, consideration of safety risks in HR politics, access to goods, information and documents related to supply chain. It also included risk management related to transport contracts and service providers.

 

With this certificate Rauma Stevedoring commits to continue to operate as reliable partner in logistics chain also in future. We expect our suppliers and service providers to operate in safe manner in cargo and information handling, so we can ensure safety of our customers products in logistic chain. We carry out regular risk surveys and implement necessary amendments in operations quickly to maintain high service level.

Stevedores' strike that began on the 4th of March 2010 is now over.

Parties (AKT and Satamaoperaattorit) agreed national councilator's proposal for new collective labour agreement.

 

Service production will continue today as soon as possbile.

AKT and Satamaoperaattorit have agreed that the latest return to duty date is on Tuesday next week and latest on that day the service production is back to normal situation.

The Finnish Transport Workers' Union, AKT, has today declared a ban on overtime work to all Finnish ports. The ban on overtime work will start on Tuesday, 2nd of February at 6.00 a.m.

AKT has also given a strike warning. The strike will begin on 19th February at 6.00 a.m., if the negotiating parties cannot make the agreement before that.

The government has agreed on resuscitation package which includes an investment of 7 million euros to the railway line between Kokemäki and Tampere.

The maximum axle weight will soar to 25 tonnes. 

Earlier the maximum axle weight has been soared to 25 tonnes between Kokemäki and Rauma and the improvements of railway line between Jämsä and Tampere will be completed on 2010. 

 

After this recently agreed investment the whole railway line between Jämsä and Rauma can be used with the axle weight of 25 tonnes.

The railway line between Jämsä and Rauma is one of the main railway lines in Finland and the traffic is 3.5 million tonnes per year.

 

The improvement of the railway line will open a very competitive logistic corridor which will degrease the freight costs of the forest and metal industries. 

The handled volumes of Rauma Stevedoring in the Port of Rauma have decreased rapidly in the end of the last year because of the financial decline. Also the forecast for the beginning of the year 2009 is poor.  

 

Because of this Rauma Stevedoring begins actions to maintain its profitability. The company will execute remarkable belt-tightening to adapt all cost to correspond with handled volumes.  

 

In addition the company will adapt its staff expenses by furloughing staggered the whole personnel. The furloughs have been agreed in the conversations with the representatives of personnel. The furloughs will be realized flexible in compliance with demand to ensure the good customer service.
